...Look
forward to Mondays!!!
Why? Because it's Preparation Day!
I don't know where this week went- it's all a blur.
The days are long, the weeks short, and they have kind of mushed together.
I am starting to become familiar with some of the families in the wards. One ward mission leader's name is Sister Tolliver, She is very nice and it feels like home and very welcoming when we visit her. The members feed us which is great because I'm now accustomed to eating cereal for breakfast and I need to get a good meal in somewhere!

On
Preparation Day LAST week I ran into Sister Mason and her companion at Pep
Boys. (We had to get our oil changed.) Our jaws dropped and we both just
kind of stood there! Then we gave each other a big hug! It was a tender mercy
to see her that day! I found it crazy that for only knowing her 12 days I missed
her so much. Because it has been so busy with training, my trainer and I really
haven't gotten to know each other all that well. I said a small
prayer in my heart, hoping to be able to develop as close of a relationship
with my new companion, so if I was to run into her one day I would be
filled with just as much joy. A week later, Sister Hiatt and I are now
great friends! She is a very good example to me of obedience, and it keeps me
going :)
We
had to drop an investigator who wasn't progressing, but he did share with us an
experience he had with prayer and it was powerful to see this former drug
dealer, current "tool" wayward kid, in essence, bear his testimony
about God. He had come home and prayed and just said, "God, I've had
enough. My way doesn't work. " He said he just completely
gave up. He put his trials in the Lord's hands. He fell asleep with a 2 pound
bag of weed next to him and woke up the next day and didn't touch it. (This kid
has been in and out of rehab many times.) He stopped cold turkey. And he
has friends who still come by and smoke, but he doesn't. He KNOWS it is
by the power of God that made that possible. Doctors and rehab specialists have
all said it's impossible to stop cold turkey without medicine or you
should slowly wean off. But here this 23 year-old kid whose life has been WAY
different than mine, was testifying of God's power.
I
want to testify as well. GOD IS POWERFUL. YOU may not be able to
face your trials, BUT WITH HIM YOU CAN. You came OVERCOME them. I talk to many
people and though their problems are all different, the answer is the
same.
MATT
28:11 "Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give
you rest. Take my yoke upon you, learn of me, for my yoke is easy and my burden
is light, and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
Only
through accepting and obeying Christ's doctrine (faith, repentance, baptism,
receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end 2NE:31) can the
power of the atonement be fully incorporated into our lives. Christ IS the way.
The light and the life. I love Him, and I know he loves you. Strive to
get closer to him. AS you draw near to him, he will draw near unto you. I love
this gospel and know that the fullness of Christ's Gospel is here on the earth!
Joseph Smith restored it once again to the earth, and God's priesthood power
and authority are on earth today. By reading the Book of Mormon you can come to
know for yourself that these things are indeed true.
I
love you all,
Sister
Kaitlin Snow
