TRANSFERS!
this time I am off.
Going to Santa Maria (cool!) serving in the second ward there. my new companion
(sister Higgins- first name ALSO Kaitlin but spelled wrong...) and I will be
"pink washing" the area. That means that there is an elder
companionship leaving and sisters will be coming in. It will be a wonderful experience.
there are a lot of people to say goodbye to in Moorpark. I will miss them
greatly. There's members such as, Sis Wutkee, the tolliver family, the akinas,
sis alpert, sis mckee, sis martin (did I mention she IS amy pholer?) the
bipdhop, the readys, the ewings, Annie Eskander and soooo many more.
Then there is Jessy, Eddy and Matt, of course, but I leave them knowing they
are solid in the gospel :) Having seen them from the beginning of their
conversion to where they are today is such a blessing. Jessy got the priesthood
yesterday and Matt blessed the sacrament. wonderful things have happened in
Moorpark. BUT I am excited to go to a new place and meet more people that will
be he hard to leave. it will be an adventure, seeing as I will be driving in a
new city and will be the senior companion for my first time.
Many things have
happened this past week. lots of knocking, some fallen through appointments,
other surprise appointment. Matt, Eddy and Jessy come to our lessons with other
investigators which is so great! I will miss teaching Starr, a woman we were
introduced to through the Ready family not too long ago. but...ONWARD CHRISTIAN
SOLIDERS. I love transfers because they are a fresh start they give you an opportunity
to change and make new goals. you can pretend your weaknesses are already
strengths and work on them from the get go!
I guess it’s a crazy
day to reflect on the past week when my mind is so forward focused right now. I’m
thinking about the things I need to pack and buy etc.
I have been reading
the new testament and this past week finished Romans, 1,2 Corinthians, and am
now on Galatians. I love the new testament!!! Soooo good. and so many
good scriptures I could quote. Paul the apostle reminds me a lot of Alma the
younger. There are so many gems in the new testament and many nuances to the
fullness of the gospel. Like Paul being caught up into the "third
heaven" or celestial kingdom, and the clear ordination of priesthood authority
and the authority to give the holy ghost to others. This gospel truly is
amazing. I love everything about it.
One of my favorite scriptures
this week was Galatians 1:10 "For do I now persuade men, or god?
or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the
servant of Christ." I need to be bolder. less apologetic, because
sometimes people DONT like the truth, it hurts, but it hurts because they
realize that they must change, and though change is hard, it is worthwhile when
we repent and turn back towards god. he will make our lives better than we can
make it alone.
1Corinthians9:14
"Even so hath the lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should
live of the gospel."
the scriptures give us
the power to follow god’s commandments and live a Christ centered life. I love
them because they remind me every day that I must remember as I teach others,
to continually humble myself and work on my relationship with Christ. Love you all,
