July 7th

Last night we got a text from our bishop that said his 88 year old father in law wants to take the discussions RIGHT AWAY. That was pretty great. We have two lessons scheduled for this week.

Sis Mason and I conducted our first exchanges last Saturday. we went back to Agoura 2nd Ward. Sis Mason was there last summer and I was there last fall. It was crazy to be back. everything was familiar. We even had dinner with a member family that we knew. It was fun to be back.

I went out with sister rasmussen. She is a new missionary and is wonderful. We worked on bearing testimony throughout the day. I declare and state a lot of doctrinal facts. but as pmg says, we must" bear testimony frequently to seal the truthfulness of your message."  I don't want it to be all about me and my stories and no doctrine, but god doesn't want it to be all doctrine without a witness of it's personal impact. again: temperance. So that is what I am striving for. to be perfectly temperate in all things. AKA baby bears porridge.

" and no one can assist in this work except he shall be humble and full of love, having faith, hope, and charity, being temperate in all things, whatsoever shall be entrusted to his care.Behold I am the light and the life of the world, that speak these words, therefore give heed with your might, and then you are called. Amen." D&C12:8-9
