Sister Snow Flies South for Pre-winter Trip

Off to Agoura Hills! We got the call this morning. Sister Higgins will be staying here in Santa Maria and SISTER MASON will be joining her (she was my mtc companion) and I will be going as south as this mission goes. In Agoura Hills I will be follow-up training  Sister Mapa. Haven't met her yet, so details to come next week.

I was SICK this week for what felt like ever. I read a lot from the book of mormon and.....slept. Let me tell you not watching tv or having a computer when you're sick is rough. I kinda just wanted mom the whole time! ha, but I'm a big sister missionary and I survived. (Although I could always use more mail).

I am excited to see everyone at transfer meeting tomorrow. It’s always fun to see who gets to serve with who, and I can ask Sister Dixon how our investigators in Moorpark are doing.

One girl I will never forget up here is Gina. We met her last week, and we had our first lesson with her Saturday. The sad part is she is moving. We got to know her. She is 16 and has been through a lot. foster care. dysfunctional parents. her father is moving them to las vegas. she has been working hard in school and she is devastated to move. But she is such a strong person. she has no resentment or jaded views on life, she pulls her own and is trying to get through it. she told us how her dream is to play the violin. I felt so bad knowing there are many lucky children who grow up with those opportunities and for some reason or another she didn't get that. I wanted to drop down money and buy her a violin and be her cheerleader.

I just feel so blessed. To have been born, like nephi, to goodly parents. I want so badly for the people here to listen to us. the gospel of jesus christ really is the good news. Christ came. HE KNOWS HOW WE FEEL.

he can help us perfectly. he DOES help. and will continue to. It is God's will for us to be saved, but first, we must conform our will to his.

It's like what Paul said. nothing can come between us and the love of Christ. (Romans 8). And though I feel sympathy for Gina, I know God loves her and she is in his hands. Her trails are different than mine, but we both will be remade and our heavenly father knows what she can handle. I am so thankful I was able to tell her about my love and faith in Him and the Book of Mormon
