SLO here's the update:

I love this town and the members and people. I want to work as absolutely as hard as I can before the transfer ends (I should be doing that anyway.)  I’ve felt impressed to go see the people I’ve talked to and follow up with them, and also have sis blake meet many of the less actives. the ones we meet with all love her. we actually met a LA couple yesterday who do nursing and sis blake connected with them very well. we scheduled a time to go back next week. the spirit was strong and it was a very unified lesson. we didn’t plan for it because we just drove by, but they let us in, sis blake shared thoughts about the talk “spiritual whirlwinds" then we had the wife read helaman 5:12, and I was prompted to commit them to work on whatever it is the holy ghost has whispered to them as we met.

sis rachel riley is progressing and has a baptismal date. she is so sweet. there is some opposition with her husband. she won’t be able to go to stake conference however because it is father’s day and doesn’t want to rock the boat and go without her husband (who won’t go). she says she feels peace as she reads the book of Mormon and she told us that before she met us she prayed to go that she would get to know him better- and she recognized that we came and have answered that prayer. I love being an instrument in the lord’s hands. she came to church again and the members are wonderful.

the elders got a referral from a family in our ward and passed it to us. his names was. he opened the door and we started talking to him, he is very sincere and says he likes to "have fun" and it would be a disservice to go to church on Sunday. we asked him, "if god could change your desires (to drink) would you let him?" "Oh absolutely" we explained the apostasy I wanted to use an analogy I was going to do restoring a new car, but the spirit whispered to me to individualize it. I asked what he does, he’s a plastic surgeon. so immediately I explained how you have an original face and you make changes, a few surgeries later you want to go back to how it was originally. you cant. you can’t keep getting more surgeries to bring it back- you need a re-set button. a restoration. he really like the analogy and said, "that's good, use that on your next person." we gave him a book of Mormon and he is excited to read it. he is busy and didn't set an appointment ,but we will be going back. we also told the member about is and she and her husband were thrilled!!

the homeless woman we met at a house is named shelly. she said she hasn’t gone to church in a while. lots of things are hard for her to understand. he parents forced her as a kid to go to the Lutheran church and they tell her to baptize her kids and then they will give her money. we just showed her love. we didn’t judge her. she felt it. we gave her a book of Mormon, "really? for me?"  she has 2 kids age 11, and 12. she works every day until 3 and has to go into the shelter by 4 so it’s hard to schedule a time. she usually has Mondays and Tuesdays off. but this next Tuesday she doesn't (traded it for father’s day) and next Tuesday is zone conference and then transfers. we did go by yesterday though and she was there at the house. she told us she will be back in that house on the 27th (her ex-husband lets her stay there when he goes out of town). as I reflect on our meeting this sentence in preach my gospel rings true, "as you share spiritual experiences together in your first meeting they will recognize you as servants of the lord."

I wish I could write all the experiences that happen in great grammatical proficiency and extraneous detail- but alas- I don't care about spelling and there's not enough time. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve the lord. many people treat us different because of the name we have on our badges. it’s kind of sad. I don't GET sad, but it’s a shame others judge others (and god) so quickly and harshly. we want to help everyone we meet. god wants to help everyone, but only those who let him receive the first aid they need to keep their soul alive, healthy and eventually glorified.

I love this scripture found in the old testament. Elijah is reprimanding the people "how long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be god follow him, but if baal, then follow him. and the people answered not a word."

how long will we fight against him? his way is perfect. his way MAKES US HAPPY. I know it is hard, because it is rewarding. Our father in heaven is a rewarding merciful loving father. he knows us and will help us. let him.

I Love you all,
Sister Kait Snow
